Who We Are
Welcome to HallwayPDX, a family owned bar! Established by father and son duo in 2023! When father-son team Tristan and Zac Webster stumbled across the space as the site of their future karaoke bar, in its essence, a hallway, about 11 feet wide and 87 feet long. They decided to honor one of cinema’s most famous halls.
HallwayPDX is a shrine to the 1980 Stanley Kubrick film The Shining packed with references to the original film. Allusions to the film are absolutely everywhere: from the hotel’s luminescent bar to the can of Calumet baking powder on display; a tricycle perched above the main room, underneath a ceiling printed with the distinctive design of the fictitious hotel’s carpeting; a sculpture of Nicholson’s head hidden among the bottles within the back bar shelving; bartenders in red vests and bow ties mix drinks suitably named after the movie; portraits of scenes from the film line the walls, including shots approaching Oregon’s Timberline Lodge, where Kubrick filmed exterior shots of the Overlook Hotel. The Grady twins are often spotted projected on the wall, while the film plays silently on loop from a skylight. Stop in Tuesdays-Saturdays to sing a tune, find all the Easter eggs, or to just grab a drink!
Apt Pupil, Tristan.
